GOOD MORNING! Turns out I’ve got nothing pithy or illuminating to say, for a change. (Insert raucous audience laughter here!) All my thoughts are on finishing this cut of the film in the next two weeks, so we can start bringing in our animation, color, and sound.
So today, I’m just gonna share a piece of music that I hope you’ll enjoy, expressing my lifelong dream of being any fucking good at the piano. Its cryptic title refers to the fact that it was the 85th piece of music I recorded during Covid lockdown. And by the time it was finished, I felt pretty sublime.
Really old people, such as myself, might recognize this as a nod to 70’s prog-rock kings Emerson Lake and Palmer. And while it lacks actual Keith Emerson-level virtuosity, it sure made me feel like a king for a minute, to be able to scrape that close to his sound.
You can find it on my album The Antidote to Fear, available from Bandcamp via streaming or compact disc. And I hope that you do! HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!
Beautiful Skipp. I didn't know u had an ear 4 the ole ivory too! I should've guessed tho as you have always ventured into any artistic waters not just treading but floating on the waves. I'm proud of you and I say that in my least condescending a-hole way possible. You've constantly been a source of joy throughout the years for me bc of your ability to see the shattered glass still brimming full. Luv that u find the good or redeeming quality or best, beautiful thing in the worst of situations and people. Thank you for always making mosaics from the pieces we can all admire. Luv you Renee nee
