Wow. Just . . . wow, John. I often wonder how people survive but somehow they do if they can escape. For many, there is no escape. That's an amazing, scary story of your young life. I saw "Civil War" . . . twice. Why? Well, I went in with preconceived notions, that it would actually be very anti-Trump. And when it wasn't I was disappointed. It felt like a cop-out by Garland. As if he hadn't the guts to show who the real villains are in this civil war scenario.

So, I rejiggered my thinking and went to see it again. I saw it's message more clearly this time. But I find it hard to let go of my personal feelings to see it more clearly for what it is, not for what I want it to be. But I'm getting there. I'm sure I'll watch it a third time.

One thing is for sure. There is NO MORE frightening scene than the one with Jessie Plemmons as a cool as a cucumber combatant, ready to take out anyone without question who doesn't fit his idea of a "good American." Absolutely riveting. (And did you know he was a last minute replacement?).

No, I did not! And DAMN, they chose well! (As did Kirsten and Jessie, when they married each other!)

Jesus. I had no idea. You have lived a dozen lives packed into one. Thank you for this wrenching, searing, important piece about humanity. I will absolutely see Civil War.
