Jesse Welles was on Jimmy Kimmel recently, so I'm glad he's getting the attention he deserves. His songs often run the gambit from being hilarious to extremely profound. He's fronted some other bands that are also worth checking out.

I'm wondering if you'd be into Aurora or Purity Ring. If you haven't listened to Aurora (or if you've only heard Cure for Me), I'd recommend Running with the Wolves, The Seed, and Everything Matters. I've been hooked on I Like the Devil by Purity Ring, but I don't think I can think of a specific starter kit for them. Maybe their older stuff is a good place to start. Anyway, I worship at the those artists' altars the way you describe your love for Sofia Isella, Kate Bush comps and all.
